I’m unsure where to start, so let’s pretend you already know me.
The last year of my life can best be explained by a post I made on Facebook on December 31.
“In 2022:
I treated more than 300 wild animals in my home.
I nourished my creativity privately.
I found my love of reading again.
I protected my peace.
I invested in preventative care for my own health.
I developed systems to help to live without chaos.
I nurtured my relationship with my family.
I learned how to unmask.
I accommodated myself for my disabilities.
I fell in love with myself.
This was a good year.”
I earned my bachelor’s degree in journalism in 2016. During my four years at university, I lost myself.
For almost seven years since I’ve been searching for myself again. That search has taken me back to an old love; keeping a personal blog.
If you’d like to follow along, these are some aspects of my life I plan to focus on in the new year.
My 2023 Goals
1. Fundraise $3000 for our wildlife rehabilitation non-profit.
2. Finish debut novel.
3. Write ten articles on Medium.
4. Carry a camera more often.
5. Read forty books.
6. Buy only secondhand or custom clothing.
7. Find a literary agent.
8. Apply to graduate school.
9. Build a pigeon aviary.
10. Establish a dance practice routine.
11. Establish a better record-keeping system.
12. Start a Fight Club.
13. Write a female-led stoner comedy.

18. Establish a blogging routine.
It’s the third day of the year, and I’m working on the last goal: establish a blogging routine.
If you would like to keep reading, whoever you are, check back later to see what I’m working on next.
